Project groups include baby houses, internats (orphanages), children, the elderly, families & individuals, foster families, handicapped & hospitals, soup kitchens, street children and a donations office. American Women's Organization & Nastenka Foundation (Pediatric Oncology Center) Underfunding, resulting in shortages of vital medicines, equipment, and qualified medical personnel, is the biggest problem facing the Institute for Pediatric Oncology in their effort to treat children suffering from cancer. The American Women's Organization provides financial support for Nastenka through the proceeds from their annual Craft Fair. AWO members also provide emotional assistance to the children and their mothers through visits to the hospitals and regularly bring gifts and supplies. Moscow Animals - Dog & Cat Shelters Thousands of homeless dogs and cats roam the streets of Moscow - all in need of food, shelter, some tender loving care and a good new home. Unfortunately, however, there aren't many people who are willing to take care of them. Moscow Animals supports a small number of private animal shelters in Moscow, and the funds raised from the sale of this book will be spent on dog and cat food and medical treatment and surgery many of the animals require.
